Lantern Moon hosted the opening reception at the Yarn Market News Smart Business Conference this week. We used our beautiful rice/lotus/butterfly decorations. Our gift bags glowed like jewels, waiting to be taken home. I love the big fiber and needles on our display table! It looks like a good time was had by all. Thanks [...]

Yesterday I noticed that some of the trees here are changing color. I’m not ready for summer to leave yet! It’s been a cool summer in the Pacific Northwest. But autumn’s colors will be nice, too. Especially when they look like this. The swing bucket bag is a limited edition in this fabric. I especially [...]

This is our A-Luoi tool case. The fabric is woven by women in the A-Luoi tribe in the central highlands of Vietnam, a 3 hour drive from the old capital city of Hue. Sharon met some of the weavers at a TrAIDe fair sponsored by the French government, and loved the intricate patterns in their [...]

Sharon brought this prototype of a Sapa bag to the Tigard Knitting Guild meeting. It’s a large, roomy bag. I love the appliqué and tiny cross-stitches. Sapa is town in a mountainous area in the northern part of Vietnam. The handwork on this bag is representative of the textiles unique to this region. These handwork [...]
